13-14 June 2021 | Port Augusta, SA

13 June 2021 – drive Ceduna, SA to Port Augusta (PA), SA – 5hrs, 470km

14 June we went on a steam train trip on the Pichi Richi Railway from Quorn to Woolshed. (Quorn is about a 30 min drive from PA). This was a lovely trip, nice to travel at a slower pace for a few hours. PRR is run entirely by volunteers, from track maintenance to ticket sales, they do it all – and, they do a brilliant job.

In the afternoon we returned to PA and visited the nearby Australian Arid Lands Botanic Garden. This is a fantastic display of native flora, lots of bird life, and they have a very nice café with views into part of the garden – which is a nice spot for a little bird watching. Happy to find that there were lots of flowers to see at this time of the year.
